On May 8th 2014, the Naval Shipyard SA started the overhaul of the Cyprian chemical cargo carrier „Ametysth”. The scope of woks includes mainly maintenance of the main deck, steel works in cargo tanks, prefabrication and assembly of doors and manholes, replacement of the chimney’s elements and repair of the main cable track by pasting it with laminate. Besides the above, it was agreed to clean and cement fresh water tanks, survey starting bottles, replace pipings on the main deck and in the power plant, repair auxiliary current generators, shaft generator and electric motors.
The end of this overhaul is planned to be on Monday, May 19th 2014.
